For the first time in over 100 years, the Labour Party has lost its majority on Durham County Council!
Labour began the election with 68 Labour councillors, but suffered huge losses, leading to their loss of overall control. The Conservatives now have 24 seats, gaining 14 - 6 of which were in North West Durham where we have gone from zero conservative councillors - we are so proud to be two of them! Below is a breakdown of the votes and you can see the results ward-by-ward on the Durham County Council website.
