Weekly Round Up 25th March 2022

What an unexpectedly sunny week! We hoped you managed to enjoy it a little. As always we’ve been busy. Here’s a snapshot of what we got up to:

• Helped the Cubs litter pick and collected a MASSIVE 35 bags of rubbish in Woody Close woods alone!
• Promoted the Big Spring Clean and as we always lead by example, come and join us on Saturday 26th across Delves ward. Send us a message if you’d like to join in, we have plenty ty of spare litter pickers!!
• Attended full council meeting where we heard an update on political boundary changes, we’ll report more info soon
• Took part in the North West Durham Conservatives executive meeting. Please inbox us if you’d like details on how to join
• Attended the Corporate Parenting Committee at County Hall
• Encouraged local community groups to apply for funding for Jubilee celebrations
• Met with Consett Police to visit the play park at Templetown and discuss both excitement and concerns from local residents about proposed updates
• Spoke at planning committee to ask them to reject Gleeson's request to remove the requirement of roundabout improvement works on Gloucester Road
• Helped lots of residents with issues including refuse collection, inconsiderate parking and potholes amongst other things!
