Weekly Round Up 27th May 2022

A fantastic and very busy week with a wonderful surprise at the end This week we:
​

• Attended the DCC Chairman’s dinner. What a wonderful event to see out Cllr Watts Stelling’s time as Chair
• Voted in #CllrBeatyBainbridge Chester-le-Street East Councillor as the first conservative Chairperson of the council ever! We work closely with Beaty and we know she’ll do a fabulous job
• At the same full council AGM we voted in all of the chairs and vice chairs for different committees at the council
• Made even more exciting plans for Crookhall Community Centre along with the committee. Watch this space!
• Attended the AAP meeting to make sure our community benefits as much as possible from local funding opportunities
• Visited Reed in Partnership in Consett and heard all about their fantastic Restart scheme which helps unemployed residents overcome all of their barriers to get back into work. They have a really personalised approach and help many people find jobs. If you’d like to know more please ask at the Consett Job Centre
• Finally we met with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson at Teesside International Airport which was a wonderful unexpected surprise. Thanks to Richard Holden MP for organising and the introduction. We invited the Prime Minister to pop in to Delves Lane at any time
