This has been a historic week across County Durham and we proud to have been part of it. This week we:
✅ Attended the AGM at County Hall where we elected the Chair, Vice Chair and Leader as well as chairs and vice chairs for the different committees as part of the new Joint Administration ✅ Were proud to help elect the first ever female leader of the council, Amanda Hopgood ✅ Our very own Cllr Michelle Walton was elected vice chair of the Corporate Parenting Panel, who has special responsibilities to care for looked-after youngsters ✅ Were allocated our committees on the council and can’t wait to get started! ✅ Attended even more training! ✅ Organised our first Meet and Greet event in the ward where you can come and get to know us in person! 10-12 9th July at Delves Lane Village Hall ✅ Met with Derwent Valley AAP and found out about all of their fantastic work across the community and their website. Watch this space for exciting announcements! ✅ Met with Sgt Minto and PCSO Mckenna and Rodgers at Consett Police Station to discuss policing and community engagement across the ward and we have some fantastic plans. ✅ Took delivery of our new Councillor merchandise - you won’t be able to miss us!
