Our Story
We are a couple of local lasses who CARE! We decided to run as local councillors after feeling ignored and side-lined by the previous local councillors. We work closely with Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham.
Michelle Walton has lived in Templetown for nearly 20 years. She says, "I love living in such a beautiful and friendly part of the world with a rich and proud heritage. I have a lot of family and friends in the area so I know a lot about what is important to the people who live here. As a parent I have been actively involved in community matters such as running a local youth club, being a school governor and I recently championed a campaign to make the roads nearer our playpark safer for our children. As a resident I have been involved in action groups to try and make sure our community receives the services it should. Now as your elected Councillor, I can do more. Together we will make a positive impact and real difference in our area."
Angela Sterling has lived in Delves Lane since 2013 with her husband and two daughters. Angela says, "I am an ex-teacher and care passionately about young people and their prospects. I now own a local business and I want to work hard to see the creation of opportunities and development come into the area. My number one priority is to listen to the views of everyone in the community and properly represent you at County Hall. My aim is to be visible and accessible and make a positive impact across Delves Lane and Templetown."
