Met with key stakeholders to discuss our role in the incinerator appeal
Visited FFG Foundation and discovered all of the wonderful things they do for the community, we were particularly interested in their work with young people. We’ll post more about this in the coming week
Attended a meeting about the Jigsaw Recovery project
Attended the dedicated session for corporate parents in response to the investigation in to child exploitation report IICSA
Did some training at County Hall
Discussed our budget and goals with Derwent Valley Partnership - AAP

Well, we all just about survived the heat at the start of the week…we’re missing it a bit now! This week we…

Attended the Derwent Valley Partnership - AAP meeting and were thrilled to APPROVE the application to fund a community speedwatch van
Attended the Corporate Parenting Panel where we approved the annual report
Attended the last Full Council Meeting before summer recess
Angela appeared on Times Radio 97.2 fm speaking about the upcoming leadership vote for our new PM
Made plans to host our first PACT meeting with partner agencies including Consett Police and Karbon Homes – more details coming soon
And as all of our local young people have now finished school for the summer, we’d like to wish you all a wonderful summer break!

Met with Jeff Baker and his fabulous team at Consett Salvation Army and oh my goodness! They do soooo much amazing stuff! From toy appeals through to lunches and youth groups! We’ll share more in the coming weeks
Met with PC Fallows and PC Brown from Consett Police to organise our upcoming PACT (Police and Communities Together) meetings. We’ll host surgeries in the same day too so watch this space for info
Attended the Highways Committee where we gave the go ahead for a puffin crossing in Dipton amongst other things
Helped residents with a whole host of issues

Chaired the committee meeting at Crookhall Community Centre - LOTS of exciting things happening there, including the new café run by Creative Kitchen…have you been in to try their delicious treats yet at Creative Kitchen Coffee Shop? Visit their page for the timetable
Attended the Children and Found People’s Overview and Scrutiny committee at County Hall where we heard and update from CAMHS about waiting times
Shared the news that under the Joint Administration and the Corporate Parenting Panel which we’re both part of, Durham County Council has gone from Requires Improvement to Good. We are delighted!
Shared details about over 100 local walks
Attended Delves Lane Primary School summer fayre where we joined in with all of the wonderful activities and stalls all organised by the staff and fabulous children. We met PCSO Brown and PCSO Burnip from Consett Police and the two Johns from Durham And Darlington Fire & Rescue and of course Mrs Woods, Headteacher!
