This week was especially busy!
✅ Attended the open day at Holding Hope at Delta ✅ Helped cut Isla’s hair with Richard Holden MP for charity - please donate at https://bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/.../islarose-emmerson ✅ Attended the full Council meeting at Spennymoor and voted on the motions ✅ Attended AAP training regarding the funding applications ✅ Attended our first physical committee meeting for planning with Mike and Doug - Lanchester, Burnhope & Castleside Councillors It was super interesting! ✅ Liaised with Consett Computers Ltd and Rendles Furniture to sign up for DCC small electrical recycling scheme ✅ Following THREE accidents on the main road through Delves this week, one of which tragically resulted in the death of a treasured member of our community, we have contacted Durham County Council to urgently review road safety ✅ Training with members of Network Management team on how to use the updated roadworks notification system ✅ Helped residents with various issues including off road nuisance, anti social behaviour, overgrown trees, blocked drains and grass cutting information ✅ Promoted the Durham Young Leaders Programme in association with County Durham Sport ✅ Were DELIGHTED to hear the news that Rishi Sunak will be visiting Elddis, Compass, Buccaneer & Xplore: Motorhomes & Touring Caravans at Delves Lane! Thanks to Richard Holden MP ✅ Had confirmation that the meeting with Project Genesis Limited regarding the incinerator will take place on Wednesday 30th June at 6.30pm. ✅Promoted DCC fantastic new ‘small appliance recycling scheme’ to get more collection points in our area – massive thanks to MAC Security and Fire for offers within minutes of our earlier post https://www.facebook.com/MACconsett ✅Popped in to meet some more local businesses ✅Collected our new business cards ✅Confirmed Michelle as our Elected Representative seat on the board of the AAP https://www.facebook.com/Derwent-Valley-Partnership-AAP-419559418122399 ✅Had a walkabout Delves Lane with our Neighbourhood Warden, PCSO and representatives from Karbon Homes (it was nice to see Gail again for the first time since 1987!) ✅Attended a briefing meeting about Hownsgill Incinerator with DCC planners ✅Confirmed our attendance at the Derwentside Immigration Removal Centre information event hosted by the Home Office ✅Met with Richard Holden and North West Durham councillors to discuss some exciting ideas ✅Completed even more training! ✅Helped residents with a whole host of issues and resolving many of them Another productive week!

✅Had confirmation from the Joint Administration that there WILL be a review of the options on the new DCC HQ and the DLI amongst other things ✅Met with our fellow group Councillors to finalise committee and outside body memberships ✅Met with the Consett North Councillors (Alex Watson and Kathryn Rooney) along with a Project Officer from Regeneration, Economy and Growth to discuss the plans for the improvement works on Middle Street, Consett (more details to follow) ✅Met with the Neighbourhood Warden to introduce ourselves and discuss how we can work together ✅Completed some committee specific training sessions ✅Made progress with confirming a date for the consultation event with Project Genesis (confirmations to follow next week) ✅Made contact with the speed watch team and the Neighbourhood watch coordinator to see how we can increase their visibility in our ward and work together ✅Continued to help residents with issues such as drain cover replacement, fly tipping, planning permission help, anti-social behaviour issues, speeding problems, dropped kerbs and graffiti issues. ✅Squeezed in some fun in the sun family time because it has been half term #mamsthatcan |
