This is what we’ve been up to this week…

Attended the Corporate Parenting Panel which included a visit to a youth secure centre as part of our CP role and responsibility
Were thrilled to be invited to speak to our local Guides and Rangers about what it’s like being a women in politics. Check out their page at 5th Consett & 1st Delves Lane Girlguiding
Worked with some local community groups to see what we could do to support their Christmas celebration plans
Let everyone know about the event to view Middle Street plans in Consett Library (we’re still waiting for update about more dates and online availability)
Brushed up our knowledge with some training for Equality & Diversity and GDPR
Don’t forget there is a “Crime prevention and safer home” drop in session being ran by Consett Police neighbourhood team –Saturday 27th November at Morrisons between 2pm – 4pm. Pop in if you can.

This week we:

Met with the IIC https://www.facebook.com/IiCYP/ to hear about the great work they’ve been doing
Attended a members briefing on Restoring your Railways – keep an eye out for further updates soon
Worked with local community groups on their Christmas celebration plans
Helped residents with lots of queries from bin emptying issues to planning and everything in between
Showed our respect and gratitude to the serving and previous members of our armed forces who have sacrificed for our country #RemembranceDay
For those who wish to attend Consett’s Remembrance Parade please be outside Christ Church Consett by 10.40am on Sunday 14th November.

No update last week as these #mamsthatcan made the most of half term with our families. Straight back on it this week though. This week we:

Were thrilled to welcome Creative Kitchen into Crookhall Community Centre - daily workshops inspiring children to develop a love of cooking and food through creative activities.
Dropped a hamper kindly supplied by the fabulous Tracey Morrisons Consett Community into the Delves Lane Friendship Group held every other Tuesday at Delves Lane Methodist Church hall
Welcomed the news that Richard Holden MP backs the Menopause (Support and Services) Bill in Parliament
Attended the SACRE meeting at County Hall
Helped our residents with issues including planning concerns, boundary queries, social care support, AAP funding and bus routes.
Met with local community groups to hear about work they are doing and ideas they have to expand
Confirmed plans for our next drop in coffee morning - watch this space for more information coming soon
And don't forget, Tuesday 9th November, COVID Vaccination and booster bus coming to Glenroyd House in Consett.
