What an unexpectedly sunny week! We hoped you managed to enjoy it a little. As always we’ve been busy. Here’s a snapshot of what we got up to:

• Helped the Cubs litter pick and collected a MASSIVE 35 bags of rubbish in Woody Close woods alone!
• Promoted the Big Spring Clean and as we always lead by example, come and join us on Saturday 26th across Delves ward. Send us a message if you’d like to join in, we have plenty ty of spare litter pickers!!
• Attended full council meeting where we heard an update on political boundary changes, we’ll report more info soon
• Took part in the North West Durham Conservatives executive meeting. Please inbox us if you’d like details on how to join
• Attended the Corporate Parenting Committee at County Hall
• Encouraged local community groups to apply for funding for Jubilee celebrations
• Met with Consett Police to visit the play park at Templetown and discuss both excitement and concerns from local residents about proposed updates
• Spoke at planning committee to ask them to reject Gleeson's request to remove the requirement of roundabout improvement works on Gloucester Road
• Helped lots of residents with issues including refuse collection, inconsiderate parking and potholes amongst other things!

This week we:

• Attended the Children in Care Council meeting to get updates on their activities
• Met with residents to discuss the Greenways estate proposals
• Led some training sessions for our Councillor colleagues
• Reminded everyone about the deadline to apply to become an AAP public rep
• Attended the North West Durham Conservatives AGM, join here https://www.conservatives.com/join
• Shared the details of the FREE Middle Street event on 20th March 11am until 3pm
• Dropped another bag of wool in to the friendship group – thankyou everyone for all your kind donations
• We’re really looking forward to our first Big Spring Clean litter pick tomorrow. Keep an eye out for details of our picks planned for 26th March around Templetown and Delves Lane

✅ Attended the Durham Country Council Foster Care star awards – if you’re thinking about fostering get in touch with the team https://www.durham.gov.uk/fostering
✅ Delivered some more consultation letters regarding Templetown playpark – get your views submitted to James by 18th March
✅ Attended the Children and Young People’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee where we asked for the IICSA report review to be moved to a dedicated meting with partner agencies and the PCC.  This report and the recommendations deserve detailed scrutiny https://democracy.durham.gov.uk/documents/s152109/IICSA%20report%20cover%20final.pdf
✅ Led some training at County Hall for fellow councillors
✅Met the team at Citizen’s House for a tour of their fantastic facilities and heard about the huge range of events they host - massive thanks for the huge bag of wool donated for our local friendship group
✅ Visited Hampton Manor to see how the work is progressing.  Hopefully opening in Summer with over 100 jobs to be filled – great news for our Ward.  Watch this space for exciting competition news https://www.facebook.com/hamptonmanorconsett
✅ Had our case against the incinerator heard in Parliament this week!! Watch this space for the video which we’ll post soon
✅ Received confirmation that our campaign to have the road at Fellside resurfaced then adopted and maintained by Durham County Council has been successful. We are thrilled!

• Had a briefing meeting about the expected appeal against the incinerator – full update after 7th March (we still live in vain hope that the applicant might see sense at the last minute and NOT submit their appeal)
• Great news to round off the week though about Templetown play park – keep an eye out on our page tomorrow for the update
